I have a 1975 Columbia 26 which I bought with the Motor-Well glassed over. I am installing a Wind-Pilot Pacific-Light [see www.windpilot.com for details] on the transom and therefore cannot use the outboard motor bracket which came with the boat. When I removed the fiberglass and foam from the Motor-Well I noticed to my surprise that the lower part of the well was wider than the upper opening. What kind of device was used to close the Well below the waterline completely. Anybody out there who can advice me?
