Motor Trailering Mount Done

I made my mount to hold my motor while trailering my 170. I used a piece of galvanized "U" channel and added a piece of wood to the inside giving me the same thickness as the boat motor mount. I made a nest at the bottom from 4" PVC and a galvanized bracket. I made the top bracket big enough to hold a gas outboard if I ever decide that I'd like to try one. Now to make the fixture to hold the rudder and tiller in the boat while trailering.

Jerry,Thanks for posting the pic. Looks like a good solution -- simple, sturdy, and low-cost. Now if you can just figure out a way to make that prop spin windmill-style in the slipstream so you can charge the battery for free during the drive to the marina....I plan to build a similar mount for my 2-hp. Hope you'll share a picture or description of your fixture for the rudder and tiller, too, when the time comes.
