I'm working on a Catalina 25, 1974 vintage. The existing motor starter leads are being led down the port vent into the port lazerette. Here they go forward through the same 4" hole (at the base of the lazerette) for the starboard vent. from this point they are in mid-hull and meander to the starboard battery platform. What other ideas are out there. How to get from outside the hull at the transom to the 'belly' of the boat, bypassing the port lazerette. I'd appreciate any ASAP response. Thanks.

Catalina 25 Indianapolis
I recently purchased a '84 Cat 25 and was wondering the same thing.....the Previous owner had placed the starter battery for the outboard in the transom on the centerline of the boat.
On my boat there is an opening in the transom with a wooden cover(like the one in the v-berth in the bow). This opening is big enough to hold the battery to start the outboard. He fabricated a small wooden platform to hold the battery in place. The cables enter through a hole drilled in the top of the transom in front of the motor. They come through just above the small shelf (starbrd side) on the transom at the back of the berth.
I dont know if this opening is intended for this purpose but it sure works fine on my boat.
