The motor mount on my 1995 23.5 is cracked and I'd like to replace it. Any ideas about how to do this? What material should I use for the mount and where might I get it? Thanks Steve

Motor Mound

My 1994 23.5 had a motor mount made out of some sort of wood that looked like teak but split like poplar. I removed it and replaced with 2" white oak finished with Cetol. I also used longer stainless steel bolts so that it was possible to put a big, fat washer and self locking nut on the inside of the transom. The factory attachment was with short bolts threaded into an aluminum plate embedded in the fiberglass. It's been on there 7 years or so with nary a crack.

another option

the motor mount is made of delron or the black plastic. The 240 bracket should fit fine if you want to go that route. Call Hunter as you will not find it out there.
