Easy is a relative term...
I replaced my OEM outboard mount last spring on my '79 O'day 23. Although it is now much easier to raise and lower the engine, its still no piece of cake. I have actually never used one that was "easy". In fact, I don't often raise or lower the engine with the bracket; I usually tilt the engine up while sailing or docked. Much easier for me. When I bought my mount, I was actually more concerned with it fitting on the existing mounting block and that it could use the existing holes in the block and through the transom.
