I am about to add a motor mount to my Mariner. Does anyone have any hints or specs that would assist me in finding the ideal location and how to support the mount in what appears to be a hollow wall.
I put a mount on our mariner last year. You stated that you wanted to put a mount on a mariner but you listed as a 192. I am not sure about the 192 but this worked great for us. Take a look at the picture for the location. I also included a lik to west marine for the mount we used. I was able to lay on my stomach on the port quarter berth and make my way back to the transom to tighten the bolts. Thanks thats exactly what I was wondering about. I was thinkin of going thru two walls but your arrangement sounds like it works. Is port the best side?
I went to the port side because we already had a swim ladder on the starboard side. I think you may find it a bit easier to get down the port side because our battery is located on the starbord side, but i thought the same thing when i first looked at it (that i would have to go through both sides of the hull, but there is more room back there than you think.
