Has anyone added a Motor Lift to their H 44 AC? I have a Nissan 4 stroke weighing in at 87 lbs. I have looked at the many models of Motor Lifts but none seem to have the height or the reach that I need. I have a call into Garhauer (spelling?) and they seem to be willing to modify theirs to meet my needs. I will folow up with pictures and see what happens. In the mean time I am open to suggestions and ideas from others. Thank you. Bob

How about Forespar?

I have a Forespar Hoist on my Beneteau 323 which has a 220 pound capacity. It is set up to handle my 8hp Yamaha engine, hoisting line is led to a primary winch as needed. Check the Defender Catalog for others as well.

Ocean Marine

I have an Ocean Marine unit for my Yamaha 4stroke 4HP at 67 lbs. I can put it on my dingy with one hand. Very easy to use. My unit is mounted on a radar pole that holds my TracVison sat TV antennna, but Ocean Marine makes a pole that attaches to the stern rail. Good system - would highly recommend. I would post photo, but lately cannot do so due to Norton.

I purchased my motor lift from Garhauer and did not have to do any modifications. There is enough height to get your motor up and onto the rail bracket.

Don't forget the tackle

I recently chartered a Naticat 37. This privately-owned boat spared no expense, right down to the bow thruster. Except, the outboard lift had only a 2:1 tackle with an eye-level cam cleat for a Honda 9.9 4-stroke which weighs about 118 lbs. We passed on the suggestion that a 4:1 would be better, or somebody is going to drop that engine into the water. ...RickM...

And the Garhauer Crane comes with 6:1 tackle.

Mine's on order. I'll let you know how it works and looks. (Oh, it's to lift our 25HP Yamaha-120 pounds)

Looks Like Garhauer Wins

Thanks for all the impute. Ocean Marine Systems cargo lift (CD 175)was a close second but I think the Garhauer will work out fine for a lot less money. Thanks again. Bob sv Kathryn 2, Stamford, Ct
