A good stiff boat
My familiarity is with the 272LE, less so the other ODay models, and I can tell you that it's a good stiff boat. Handles a breeze quite well -- probably due to the ton of lead in its winged keel. (Don't be daunted by the shallow draft.) Properly trimmed, there's little need to reef at less than 18-20 knots. Even then it's a matter of personal preference and skill. The 272 will drive very well at 15-20 degrees of heel. So while the motion comfort index of the 272 may be lower than that of the 27 or 28, my feeling is that it's probably not a big enough difference to worry about. (It also depends on what use you plan for the boat. It's a coastal cruiser, not a blue water boat.) Feel free to email me direct for any other info on the 272 that I might be able to provide.Fair winds to you...Pete
