At my marina we have spider problems too. I have found the best defense is to buy a spray can of bug spray that works for spiders in a local hardware store. Spray your dock lines at least every 2 weeks and if you have a problem onboard spray sail covers and bimini etc at first to help. Once under control, just treatind dock lines seems to be enough on my boat.

Flea collars. Problem is they are kind of expensive. I would cut one in half and then slice lengthwise to get a four for one. Tied two on the pushpit, a couple midships, and two on the pulpit. Last a couple of months depending upon the rains.

In our marina they fly onto the boat so docklines not really the issue.

If they fly you need a 50 foot collar around the boat??? Not realistic in my opinion.

The spiders para-sail onto my boat too. I can completely clean them off in the evening and when I get up the next morning my boat is covered in webs again.

Since spiders have never harmed me, I just live with it.
