I am sure this has been asked before, but I cannot find any resource. Maybe one of you will know. I have a 1980 Cat 30. The engine controls are located on the port cockpit sole. I beleive they are the old Morse controls. Long handle outboard is transmission and the short handle inboard is fuel. I have action on the fuel handle, but the transmission handle won't budge at all. I disconnected the transmission cable from the control fittings in the port lazarette to if I could move the control handle and to be sure it was not the transmission cable. After disconnection cable seemed to be free and the control handle will still not move.
I thought I would remove it and lube it up, E-blast it, etc.... I removed the inboard fuel handle with the set screw in the bottom, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to remove the outboard transmission handle.
Any ideas? And if I have to replace the whole thing and good direction as to what to use?
Thanks all..
