We have a 1970 Morgan 28 sloop, and are looking to replace the forward hatch cover. Anyone have any ideas where we could look? The original clear plastic (plexi?) is cracked and degrading. We could just glass over it as an option.
Thanks
Mimi and Bill

Have you tried contacting Select Plastics in Conn. They may be able to help.

SP did great work on our Lewmar hatches a few years ago. It's their specialty. Call and talk in person to them.

Hi Mimi and Bill,
We just took on a Morgan 28 and the hatch is cracked. I am just wondering what you did with your cracked hatch? Any suggestions on fixing up a damaged hatch?

Remove the hatch, dissemble the gasket, seal and lens then purchase a replacement acrylic lens from your local plastics retail shop cut to fit od adequate thickness and tinted to your desire, purchase new gasket and seal then reassemble OR send the hatch to Hatchmaster (a subsiderary of Select Plastics) Home - HatchMasters or Select Plastics Marine Hatch Repair - Select Plastics for a complete marine grade acrylic lens, seal and gasket replacement. I recently got a quote from Hatchmaster recently for a 19½” x 19½” square acrylic lens (22” x 22” OD frame dimensions) for $502 plus shipping.
