The following questions are pretty specific to the V32. Otherwise I would not be asking half of them! Here we go: Radar: pole or mast mount & why? Display mounted where & why? MOB Pole: Where do you put the dang thing? How do you mount it so it's out of the way, not ugly and still accessable. Batteries: Where do you physicaly fit a third for starting only? Strong system: Anyone with a V32 or 36 fit it? Manual bilge pump-what kind and where did you put it? Thanks for now!

Couple of Answers

1. I went with an Edson pole kit on a custom L bracket off the stern. If I were to do it now, I would check the Garhauer equipment and have them do a transom mount. I believe the free-standing masts vibrate quite a bit and wanted to isolate the radar from that. Also wanted handy places for a second VHF and cellular antenna. Also the TV antenna. My 40.5 is set up the same way. The display was mounted at the chart table, rigged to be demountable and put in the companionway. I have seen several that way. FWIW, I use the radar down below anyhow. 2. MOB pole? Beats me. When racing, I hung it on the stantions. 3.Starting battery was a low-profile side terminal auto one. Put it under the aft bunk on the starboard side. Rick D.

Battery.

Tom: What type of batteries do you have on board. If you have Gel and/or AGM, there is a great starting battery from Optima. They are very small and light weight so they can be fitted almost anywhere. PS: sorry to hear about the boat transaction. How are the job prospects looking?

Battery in Starboard Locker

The original owner put a third battery in the large starboard locker. It works ok. Needs to be monitored when charging. Too much "juice" and you can get some fumes in the area which isn't very good on anything metal in the locker.

Thanks for the ideas-What about manual B pump?

The idea about the car battery with side terminals is a great one. It will easly fit close to the engine! Now, how about a manual bilge pump? I'm thinking of putting it in the angled rear face of the starboard seat locker. That way, the helmsman or a crewperson could work the handle pretty easly. Any comments?

Manual pump.

My H37C('79) came with an Edson manual bilge pump. I think that Edson still markets those. Your mounting location will be dictated by access to the bilge with a 2" hose I guess. And proximity to a place for an overboard thru-hull.
