Now in Appalachicola, and first time with internet access since we left Pensacola. Left Pensacola Saturday morning for an offshore run to Carrabelle. A mix of weather, from dead calm to 20 knots dead on the nose, was not even close to the forecast. We still made decent time, arriving in Carrabelle about 5 Sunday afternoon. Only glitch was when we arrived heard the bilge pump running. No water in the boat, and figured it out to be a bad switch, stuck in the on position somehow. I clipped the ground wire to the pump, and crimped on a spade connector. If we should need the pump, is a simple matter of plugging the ground wire back together. And for anyonw heading to Carrabelle, be advised. The Moorings in Carrabelle is not connected in any way with The Moorings you are aware of. And it would not be high on my list of places to recommend. Left there this morning for a short inside run to Appalachicola. Talked to a Tow Boat captain this morning and he told us what I had already heard before. The cut coming in here from outside is shoaled up, and iffy for sailboats. Gonna hang out here for a couple of nights, then make out way over to Port. St. Joe, an easy day.
