We've finally bit the bullet and purchased a cruising spinnaker (from HOW of course). I've searched the archives and can't seem to find any notes on how high above the forestay the spinnaker halyard should be. I think the huy at West Marine told me just go "about 1 foot higher" but this sounds kinda vague.I've got a Schaefer Snapfurl so the jib halyard is still used, I've already purchased the line, spliced on a shackle (what a pain splicing is) and have all the other necessary pieces/parts. So, for the H26 how long should the tack line be (5 feet as per the "what you need to fly a spinnaker" section)? Once that's calculated do you just measure the spinnaker in the sock to determine where you hit the mast above the forestay or what? Thanks,Jim
