Catalina Capri 22 Half Moon Bay

The view from the Half Moon Bay Yacht Club out across the harbor.
They were nice enough to let me tie up Bella Barchetta for the night.
...tied up out there with with the boom & sail laying down on the life line.
You can see the tram that ferries people back and forth to the floating dock.

Most of the club's Cal-20's are on the hard for the "winter" so there was plenty of space on their floating dock.
Many of the club members had to go out and take a close look at Bella Barchetta.
...and all were very impressed with the design and the large, comfortable cockpit.
(plus... I sort of ran circles around the Cal 20 with my 135 genoa in the light stuff)

A nice weekend all in all, but this weather pattern has brought unseasonably light conditions.
Mária and I had some decent catabatic wind early Sunday morning, but by 1100 it was flat!
We tied up to a mooring ball, had some lunch and then paddled the kayak around.
...sorry, no bikini shots... it is still January for Pete's sake!!

There are some helicopter aerial shots that show the harbor in the background.
Yes, Maverick's big wave surf spot is just outside the harbor!! :shock: ...lot of reefs around that require attention!!!

You can see the harbor and the village of El Granada and Princeton by the Sea.
All those boats sit in deep water just off the reef that the waves break on.
It doesn't look like from this perspective, but those are about 20' waves breaking right there. :shock:

This was Saturday off shore of the Dana Point Yacht Club as I was visiting my son in Huntington Beach and we got a ride on an Olson 911SE.

Beautiful 65 degrees with breezes around 5-8 to start and halfway into the 14 miles offshore race it picked up to over 12 and we switched to #2 headsail (140%) and then the wind died but skipper kept up the smaller sail and we ended up third (we had been first until the sail change and an "issue" with spinnaker dousing at the turning mark off shore of Camp Pendleton.

Fun day! And got sunburned on my new haircut edges!
