I want to get more info about the build quality of Seidelmann's in general and speicifcally the 34 or 37 models. Are these boats bluewater capable? We are into crusing not racing. We sail either as a couple or single-handed. We sail in winds most of the time 15 knots plus plus.! ( North Channel- Lake Huron) How do these models handle such conditions? Are they comfortable in these winds? What are her sailing characteristics. Although the price attracts me to Seidelmann's we want a safe quality well built boat. We plan on cruising to the Caribbean in 3/4 years with our next purchase.Even though we are on a tight budget, I want to make sure that the boat we purchase suits our needs. I am also looking at other boats such as: O'day 35, Pearson 365, Niagara 35, Catalina 36, etc. Any information or other sites that might provide me with reviews of the S34 or S37 would be most appreciated. Hope to make my purchase by the spring of 2006. Thanks, Allan Guest

Seidelmann in the Caribbean

I've been cruising in a S37 "IWI" for the last 8 years, down the east coast of the States and Bahamas for a year and 7 years in the Caribbean. I would certainly recommend an S37 for long term cruising in these kind of waters. I have made a few modifications that may be of interest to you should you go ahead and buy one.
