I read somewhere that over 90% of abandoned boats survive. One should sail in conditions and areas they are comfortable with. that's no to say we all don't get caught in a blow now and then, I'm saying for instance: don't go blue water sailing if aren't comfortable with the possible weather and you have only sailed on a 100 acre lake. I have had nervous passengers in a dense fog but by pilot buddies thinks only a lark since we fly 0/0 in 3 dimensions.
What ever happened to common sense. I know most of us have it but, I can't count the number of times I have assisted the wayward.
