I am planning on mooring my Oday 240 in the harbor. The Oday 240 has the 2 original bow cleats and no chocks. Do you think I should add a large mooring cleat and chocks? Thank-you in advance, Chris

My 23 is...

...the same setup. I moor mine as well with no ill-effects.; I use two pennants and have had no problems with chafing. It seems as though the cleats are far enough out, and the boat low enough, that chafing isn't a problem. That is, the angle that the pennants ride works out OK. In fact, it rode out Issabelle in the Chesapeake last year on the mooring.

I have chocks and an 8" open body cleat...

...which were added by the prev owner. He kept his on a mooring first, then moved to a slip. He said that mooring was ok with the original setup, but he wanted more convience/security for anchoring in Apostle Islands and North Channel. I do have some cracks in the mounting track for the rub rail caused where pennant pulled before he added chocks.
