mooring advice please

i am planning to moor my mariner at pleasant lake. I'll have to set the object to be placed on the bottom of the lake from my boat. What might I use? how much should it weigh? how deep water must i be in? i'll have to remove the whole mooring at the end of the season. Any suggestions would be appreciated. My three cement blocks did not work well last year because the rope got cut. thanks ..kip

Mooring

If the bottom is "solf", I suggest you check out a mushroom type anchor.As far a "specs" (weights, chain lenghts, rope lenghts, mooring bouy & etc.)....go purchase a CHAPMAN PILOTING & SMALL BOAT HANDLING. Available at any good book store or West Marine Stores (also over the web, try Buy Com).When the storm is blowing, you don't want to be worried about your ground tackle!Good Luck!
