How big of a mushroom moring would it take to hold a C-22 in heavy winds? I am thinking around 100 LBS. but not sure if it is enough.

Mooring

The West Marine catalog has some pretty good information on this subject. It will give you the answer you need.

mooring

not only will the size /weight be a factor, but the soil conditions into which it will be anchored

200 lbs.

that should hold it. I think 100 lbs would not do. Regards, Ted

200 lbs also

I agree with all previous replies. I will also add that length of chain and mooring line is equally important. A heavier mushroom won't help if the boat is lifting it off the bottom. A 1 to 3 (rise to run) maximum slope is recommended for high tide I believe. Don't skimp on the heavy bottom chain, as that is what forces the mushroom do its job correctly (i.e. on its side)
