Hello Tommy T,
We bought and installed a Moor wind indicator on our O'day 34 after the original Datamarine instrument stopped working. The Moor indicator was less expensive than others, worked fine and was easy to install and use. Just followed the instructions.
The unusual thing (in my opinion) about the Moor instrument is that the indicator needle did not travel the entire 360 degrees. If you look at the face of the Datamarine and the face of the Moor they show different views of the boat image. The image on the Moor is a split boat hull. Sort of showing a "no sail" area directly into the wind. If you are visualizing the apparent wind in relation to your own hull the Moor indicator might confuse you as you read the degree of the apparent wind. I eventually put magic marker lines on the rim of the instrument to remind me of the location of the needle for close hauled and beam reach. That was probably a problem with me rather than the instrument. Sort of the "old dog, new trick" idea.
