When I bought my boat most of the instruments were dead. Found a sender for the speed unit, the tach is hopeless at least as a cost benefit issue, but decided I needed a new wind unit. Checked out West Marine and found nothing that would replace the original gauge. While poking around came upon Moor. Not only do their guages seem to fit the openings they are far less expensive than the Ray Marine units being sold by West and others. Since I doubt I will be greatly expanding my instrument cluster don't see the point in spending to be plug compatible with the Ray standard.

Thoughts?

If you think you will be expanding your network to include GPS then you need to do your homework on what the Moor has in the way of NMEA interface. Your GPS will have a talker and a listener circuit so as long as the Moor unit has a talker circuit you should be fine for an upgrade at a later date.
If you really don't think you will need the GPS for VMB, tack angle..... then you should be fine with just the Moor unit.
