Monochrome Radar screen & night vision

I have a 7 yr old Raytheon SL70 radar with a monochrome screen. Does anyone know how it affects night vision? Previous owner wired the pedestal so I can put the screen in the cockpit, but I worry about hurting night vision. Any thoughts?Bob F.

Illumination Control

I would not worry. There is an illumination control and a night vision reverse display. Same as my Furuno, located in the cockpit. No problem, Rick D.

No problem with an SL72

which is essentially the same unit. The illumination control works very nicely.
