Moisture control on the hard?

A query on the Cherubini forum regarding dehumidifiers prompted this question. Many of us are planning for haul-out in October/November, an ugly thought I know. The past two winters I have placed large containers of kitty litter throughout the boat(H37C). We do not have 115V available. How do the rest of you control moisture while on the hard?

DORADES, DORADES, DORADES

when living in Long Island N.Y. i added foward dorades, and vents, on the companionway boards, which moved air through the boat. Living in Florida, for the past seven years, from the keys to Tampa bay, I added aft dorade with two cowls to the slider, and had minimal problems. air circulation through the boat, will keep it from sweating, thus no sweat, no mildew.

My plan...

is to put a very small computer "muffin" fan in a vent in the head. I have a 3.5 in 200mA 12V DC brushless ball bearing fan in hand. This kind, incidentally, is very quiet. I'll leave a solar panel out to keep the battery topped up.

More ventilation

I also remove the sending units for the depth gauge [transducer] and the speedo. This gives more air circulation if you have another opening near the roof of the boat. You might want to put a screen in the openings.
