Modifications to interior liner

Has anyone modified an interior similar to the 29.5 where the dining seat is one continous piece of molded liner (or whatever it is)? The area I'm talking about is under the dining table seats ( if you were sitting eating at the table it would be the part behind your legs). I would like to make the storage under the seats more easily accessable and not have to raise the seat cusions. I would like to cut holes and install hinged doors (kinda like those in the aft berth). What would this do to the structrural integrity and strength of the seats? Jane

Been there

I did what you're talking about on my 33. Two seasons and no problems noted. As long as you round the corners and leave enough meat I doubt you'll see any problems.
