Modification for Chainplates

I found in my drawings a modification to correct the issue/potential problems with chainplates on the Challengers. It is a hand drawn drawing that I can share. It looks like the person actually cut into the outsied of the hull to fill the "sealed" void with glass layers.

I can scan or photograph it if anyone is interested. I also found pictures of the hull when he did the changes to my boat. no close ups, but shows the glass marks on outside where the repairs were done.

The modification you describe is what Alden recomended and included drilling & bolting through the hull. This was done on my boat as well, both main & mizzen. I will post a few pictures of what I found when I replaced the chain plates, warning it may put a damper on your summer.
