Although I've mostly enjoyed the drill for several years of having a hank-on jib, getting a furler is looking more appealing. Just starting to delve into that arena, so input regarding considerations would be appreciated.

Budgeting will drive me into a used unit. Several folks have recommended Harken because replacement parts are readily available. Anyone know of a suitable unit for sale?? (The boat is a 1980 37C, now a sloop.)

Thanks

I was looking at the Schafer units with a buddy of mine who has a 38' heavy displacement cutter rig at the defender sale this year, they appear much more solidly built for cruising than the comparable harken units, and I believe a little cheaper as well.

The new Harken ESP furler is nice, and reasonably priced, we can beat anyone's price on this, but can't publish pricing due to MAP pricing policy, give me a call if you're interested.

Used furlers are almost never worth the trouble in my experience.
