Dear Interested, I've just closed on a Catalina 27, 1973 dinette model. The boat is super clean with a recent survey. No rot, and several newer sails. It was the nicest boat I could find at my price level. I'm very happy, so far. My problem is that I plan to live on board this summer but I need a stove and a refrigeration system. The galley has a space for a stove top but no place for a refigerator. I'm wondering if anyone out there has customized the galley for a oven/stove and refirgeration system. Or, does anyone have any ideas. Sincerely, -Christopher Barrett

Refrigerators on a Dinette C-27

I installed a refrigerator between the two setees, then boxed the table (for addtional storage), repositioned the brackets, and installed the table. Look for the right size refrigerator. Mine is approx. 30"h x 22"w x 22"d. I still have leg room plus the added advantage of the boxed table on top. I've lived on my C-27(Hull #59) for 13 years. It works well! Refrigeration on Dinette C 27

My 1972 Catalina has a forward galley. I lived on it for 5 years both in California and in Washington. I added additional exterior insulation to the ice box and installed Norcold refrigeration, the condensor under the V berths. While at a dock I used a hot plate, toaster oven and small microwave in addition to the 2 burner alcohol stove. The Norcold works well unless you want to keep frozen food and ice cream.
