OldCat: I've put my response here as I did not want it to get lost in the stopping topic. The MOB method you mentioned is the one I prefer but others prefer some other method. That one is the one I'm most comfortable with. Catamarans are a whole different story. All of my stuff is directed towards boats in the 27' to 34' range. The principles are the same regardless of the size of the boat but with smaller boats things tend to happen a lot quicker and you can do some things with them that you can't on larger boat. In all my life I have never sailed a catamaran. I've never been on a sail board either. I hope one day to do both. Last year I was at the Columbia River gourge and watched those guys sail in the high winds. What a sight to see. As I mentioned the principles are the same but these guys have more "Moxie" and skills than I'll ever have.
