Does anyone have a a good link or know where I can get a mixing elbow for the Yanmar 3HM35F...been looking for the past hour online with no luck. Would also love to know what the parts number are since I dont own a parts catalog. Was enjoying the day motor sailing (2kt winds)and noticed two much smoke coming from the rear and bogging with the engine. I know the bottom and prop should'nt have been the problem since I just recently floated here. Finally saw smoke coming from the engine compartment...one half of the mixing elbow sheared itself off the coupler and there was water coming in from the exhaust and to much drama for the 4th of July...not to mention having to limp back to the marina in 90 plus heat at 1 kn. Any leads would be appreciated...thanks all!

You must not be using google...

One minute flat. I have bought from Torrenson before and they are awesome. Customer service is great and when they had something on a 3 day backorder they called me and asked me whether to split the shipment. BobM

There are two different mixing elbows for that engine.

One is shaped like a long bent pipe (30 degrees or so) with a hose barb entering after the bend, and I believe this one is the standard. The other is a shorter elbow shaped like an inverted U which is the kind I have. If you just tell the parts guy which one you have they will supply it. Remember the U shaped mixing elbow is connected to the exhaust elbow by way of a union fitting which turns one way to tighten both ends. It has a right hand thread on the bottom and a left hand thread on the top . thus the thread on the pipe thread end of the mixing elbow is left handed. I'd give you the part numbers if I had them, but my manuals are on my boat. Good luck Joe S
