Any Mississippi coast sailers on here familiar with Cat Island? I would like any tips advice on getting into Smugglers Cove or little bay on Cat island. Wanted to know also if the Hurricane changed any of the anchorages up. Its been about 12 years since I've been out there and wanted to know what is different. Also a different subject, Anyone know if Long Beach Ms has any slips available and also does anyone know what they are charging per foot nowadays. I used to keep a boat in long beach but like I said that was about 12 years ago. thanks James

Smuggler's Cove
is quite a bit different since Katrina as the sand beach was breached by Katrina so the cove is not as well protected. I've not been out there since last summer so maybe the break is healing(?). You can take a look at it on Google Earth. Long Beach is charging around $2.50-$3.00 per foot I think + elec.There are alot of slips as the boat census is probably < 1/2 of pre-Katrina along the entire coast. If you get to Long Beach I'm the H310 P2 slip 25.
