Missing Trim

I am finishing the main cabin and I noticed I am missing some trim. The two rails that support the back rest on the starboard side when in the full bed mode, have 3 screw holes each. Looks like someting was attached at one point there. I have looked through all my left over trim pieces and cannot find anything to fit those holes. Also, I cant see what would go there since the backrest lays flat on them and locks with two barrel bolts.

The screws where holding a strip of velcro , this is esentiel, otherwise the plank slips towards the table and you wake up with a gap in your back (I been enduring that for the past 6 months...). You really need some sort of mattress on top of that bed, otherwise the person sleeping on the inner side will have a piece of wook in the middle of it's back.

By golly they are right! All that sunshine has not fried their brains . . . . yet. I was looking at the picture and trying to visualize mine when I noticed their post. And your interior IS very nice. Well except for the hole in the floor and the missing table.

We took our table out and left it out, but now the admiral wants a fold down table with 6" or so of storage off the head bulkhead. Gonna have to do that with my plastic tools, I'm no where near the woodworker to produce a finished work like that.

Thanks for your help. There is indeed some plastic velcro strips on the back of the port back cushion. I guess it was also used on these cleats. My backrest has 2 barrel bolts that go into the cleats and keep it there along with a folding leg to hold the middle. I tried it the other day and did not feel very secure. A matress pad is a must.
Thanks for the compliments. I decided to cover the bottom part of the bunk with teak and I used 1/4" teak plywood. I stained all the new teak to match the old and it looks pretty uniform. It really dresses up the cabin. Table is having surgery back at home. Liked the mods many of you made to the table. I like the idea to be able to remove it without having to step down the mast.

Unlike most people, I'm totally in love with the original table in our H37, it's sooo georgous. We did modify the table so that it can be removed when the mast is stepped. Another thing I really like about it is that it reduces de size of the main saloon, so when you are out at sea, you have something to grab onto. I'm totally against newer boat design, thoses 65 + footers with huge open spaces inside, unless the boat is doomed to stay at the marina, somebody is gonna get hurt when the boat starts rolling.

I am with you on the grab handle situation. I have a 3ft stainless tube that I am considering installing from the corner of the sink/counter top to the ceiling in order to give another holding point as I make my way down the cabin. I feel I still have cat like reflexes but the admiral does not agree with me.

Love you guys. Learn something every day. My 37C doesn't have those screw holes. Also no barrel bolts or velcro. I shove a bunch of kleenex boxes, pillows etc. between that little cushion and the table and the damn thing still slides out. Great solution. Thanks.

Also, Jose, great teak job on the settee facing. Did you do that on the port side too? And all that trim. That new? My sole just butts up to the glass settee facing and the bulkhead. Well, butts up with a huge gap designed to collect all kinds of nasties.

Yep. I did both sides with teak. I used Minwax Sonoma Red in order to get the new teak plywood similar in color to the original 30 year old teak on the bulkheads. After replacing all the soles, I decided to use 1/4 round moulding around the cabin in order to trim it out. It only took 2 16ft sticks. It,s actually Santos Mahogany moulding. I had several hundred feet on hand for a job and no one missed 2 sticks.
