My wife and I are the happy new owners of C310 #189, "Concerto in Sea", sailing out of Oyster Bay, New York. Hopefully, we will have things to share with the group, but for right now some help is needed.
There is a slot at the transom under the helm seat which should have some type of board in it to close off the transom. This is missing. Does anyone know of a place to get a replacement or should I just make a new one from 1/4" Star Board from WM? Right now that seems to be the simplest alternative, but an OEM part might be nicer.
Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

As a former C310 owner I remember that as being simply a rectangular piece of starboard like material. you could try calling Catalina in Florida to see if they have any in stock but I think your thought of cutting a new one to size is the easiest and probably least expensive way to go. I rarely if ever used it on my boat FWIW.

Don't know if it was factory but mine is a piece of plexiglass and it looks and works just fine so that could be an alternative for you. I'll take a picture tomorrow.

And welcome! All your questions can be answered right here!

Welcome aboard. Hope you love your 310 as much as us.

Our's is factory and it's just a piece of starboard with two other pieces screwed to the top to hold it up.

We don't use ours much. Only in really bad conditions or if we have small kids onboard.

Fair winds,

Jesse

Mine doesn't go all the way down. There is a couple of inch gap at the bottom. I don't think you want it to go all the way down because then it would prevent water from draining out of the cockpit.

Thanks to all for your prompt responses and suggestions.
Star Board it is with a short "safety line" attached to keep it onboard and handy when stored in the starboard lazarette.

I use mine underway because I typically keep 1 or 2 throw cushions down there under the helm seat.

I use mine most of the time as I keep the fuel tank for the dink under the seat

I just send you an email via the forum. If you want you can use mine as a template. Plexglass would work fine. Your #4 C310 in Oyster Bay. Enjoy the boat……Wecome.
