Hello, just bought a Hunter 25' 1976 for a real bargain, however, the inboard engine (Yanmar) didn't come with any keys. "Just can't started and I'm broken hearted". Can anyone suggest how I could obtain keys to my mistresses heart? Responses greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Mark Crociati

Paper Clip, Screw Driver, Any Key

Yanmar ignitions are not exactly precision engineering. Try any key on your key ring, that comes close.

Buy @ Yanmar

You can buy them at Yanmar, but they are expensive. Ironically, any old-style Yanmar key will work. They are all the same. You could even go to Home Deport and buy a blank (I hear Cole) that would work. All you have to do is find someone that will let you borrow one. You can even use a small screwdriver. Just be careful not to mar the keyhole because you won't get a key in there later. P.S. Many boat yards have blanks around.

I bought one

My local Yanmar dealer had them and I bought a spare key last year for $10.

Master lock key

I used a Master padlock key for my Hunter 34. Worth a try.
