Ok, thanks. Needs work. Full of water and pine straw today. Gonna pull it in my shop tomorrow. Perfect cold weather project.

While I can't help you with your boom issue, I can answer a lot of other questions about that boat as I used to own one. One warning about it... Don't over tighten the rudder pivot bolt! You'll crush the foam rudder. I have a few ideas to prevent that issue as well

You might give these guys a call on the boom... don't know where in GA you are, so can't judge of making a drive to Clearwater is worth it... but FedEx ground will ship up to 108in length (165in length + girth, but that shouldn't be a problem for a boom).

My Starwind had a bolt rope in the bottom of the sail. You'll get better sail shape by going to a loose fitted boom. In other words, you don't need exactly the same boom. Something longer with a compatible goose neck can be cut down as well

My bad. Outboard motor. Said it would push it good enough and last six hours. Of course your not sailing if u motor six hours.

Will it get you out of a storm or a strong headwind? No, but for most, relatively calm conditions it will work well. We were pleasantly surprised at how fast a 36lbs trolling motor pushed the Starwind. It's a rather light boat at 1350lbs.

Good to hear you found a suitable boom replacement. Mine is still in the garage so I know you didn't get it from me! ;)

The folks with the Colgate 26 in the slip next to me have an electric kicker which they love. I am a little more old school (and frugal) in that regard. As much as I hate the smell, the dependability and range of a gas-powered outboard is hard to beat for the money.

I agree with cost. 4 stroke is quiet. Just got it home, tire issues for a day or two, washing and in the shop it goes.

Just a quick hint - My experience has been that 4-strokes are somewhat finicky when it comes to the quality of gas they burn. Keep it fresh or you might find yourself adrift (as I once did).

Anybody know where some windows are? I can make some some. Like everyone else, original is what I want.

Are your windows set in a frame or attached plastic to the sides of the cabin.

If the later, then a plastic shop like Tap Plastics could supply you material cut to your desired sizes. The process of install can be found on YouTube. I like the demonstrations by Andy from BoatworksToday.com. He shows the use of 3M tape (I believe) to set the window in place and Dow 795 caulk to seal the window to the the hull.
