I feel bad for the boat owners that pulled their boats in the event of Hurricane Isabelle hitting the North East Coast. I figured it was the end of the season and asked if it was possible for my marina to pull the boat before the storm. Their reply was that it would cost me $15 per foot extra to try to pull it before the storm and they would not guarantee that they could get to it! I could see if I was not a customer of the marina, but cheeze, I was giving over one week's notice before the storm was even scheduled to hit our area! Is this common practice among marina owners? I know they feel that they have us over a barrel, but isn't the dockage during the summer and the storage during the winter enough? I could see if the storm was coming in the middle of August and I wanted the boat pulled and re launched after the storm...... Just wanted to vent, thanks for listening.Ed
