Has anyone identified our twelve steps?
1. We admit we are addicted to sailing.
2. The only thing that can restore our sanity is sailing.
3. We have made a decision to turn our lives over to the care of our boat and improve what we can as we understand it.
4. We have made a search and inventory of our sails and realize we need a new, smaller spinnaker for higher wind.
5. We have admitted to the sailing god, ourselves and another the exact nature of our wrong sail selection for the conditions.
6. We are entirely ready to have the higher sailing presence help us remove the defective gear from our inventory and buy new stuff.
7. Humbly ask the sailing gods to remove our shortcomings in sailing knowledge.
8. Made a list of all the people we have harmed with our sailing addiction and vow that we’ll try to get them to understand our side.
9. Aggressively try to convince the people who feel they were wronged by our sailing addiction that they are actually wrong.
10. Continue to take inventory of our sails and buy a new sail when we realize we need a headsail for when the wind is out of the north 10-12 and the waves are from the southeast at 1.5ft-2ft.
11. We have sought to understand more about sailing and pray for more knowledge on how to douse a spinnaker faster without shrimping.
12. Having a spiritual awakening of our sailing addiction and gather with other sailors to try to convert anyone who doesn’t understand.
