How is Jabsco for a new head? Is it a decent product as an alternative for a Raritan at less than 1/2 the price? Bronze seacocks or Plastic? They are both the same price. Should I add a seacock to the sink in the head even though it is a little above the waterline? Should I add a Y valve instead of the existing T fitting in my wast lines? Why? Has anyone added a fresh water hookup/RV style. It seems on my H-31 that you have to keep filling the water tank and running the pump. Dark or Light tint on Mark Plastics windows? Which do you have/prefer? Anyone know a rigger in the Hudson Valley NTY area? Anyone know of a DC fridge that fits where the stove is? Thanks, Rob rob@unlimitedaircraft.com 845 457-1000

Jabsco

The Jabsco Head is a waste of money. It works great but isn't strong enough. Mine cracked around the pump housing in the first year.

Answers to some of your questions

" How is Jabsco for a new head? Is it a decent product as an alternative for a Raritan at less than 1/2 the price?" Like anything else, you get what you pay for. The Jabsco toilet is the cheapest. The Raritan PH II is not the most expensive, but has been rated for decades as the best manual marine toilet under $500. "Should I add a seacock to the sink in the head even though it is a little above the waterline?" It isn't when you're heeled on that tack...add the seacock, and keep it closed except when using the sink. "Should I add a Y valve instead of the existing T fitting in my wast lines? Why?" I would...because among other reasons it cuts off the flow of tank contents to the macerator pump when it needs service. "Has anyone added a fresh water hookup/RV style. It seems on my H-31 that you have to keep filling the water tank and running the pump. " No reason why you shouldn't...but unless you spend a LOT of time at the dock ("floating condo") instead of on the water sailing, you won't get much use out of it.

some more answers

If you add the fresh water hookup consider the following ideas 1. Make sure you install a pressure regulator. 2. Never leave the boat at the dock with the water connected or install a timer.
