Minor Flow of Water in the Cabin

I have a Hunter 320 and Here is my problem: Great sail on Saturday on the Chesapeake - winds were 10 to 15 knots out of the South. Was on a port tack for nearly two hours in some rough seas and gusty winds. As I was motoring in to the dock in Deale, MD., one of the crew noticed three minor streams of water coming into the cabin underneath the storage area below the stove. Water coming into the cabin makes me very nervous. I went below removed pots and pans and noticed that the press wood board in the storage area below the stove was wet and the saw dust from the pressboard was coming off because of the moisture. The stove, etc. on the starboard side of the boat. At the dock we cleaned up what little water was left and watched for more water to come in. It had stopped and no water came into the boat. I looked for leakes in the water system, etc., furthemore, it was saltwater that was coming in. I have never seen this before. Any ideas on where the water would be coming from and what might be my problem? Thanks, Jim

Galley Through-Hull?

I had a sink full of water in the head on a starboard tack in strong winds and sailing fast. I am guessing that water might be forced up your galley sink through-hull, and leaking. If that is the case, the water might collect behind the stove, and then slowly trickle out when level. A leak like that might not be noticed when just draining water from the sink, but with pressure from a flow through the water, might be seen. By the way, I now make sure the head and galley through-hulls are closed when sailing unless in use.

Thru Hull culprit

Jim: Although not specifically familiar with the 320, I can tell you that my 376 allows "LOTS" of water in through the starbord side sink in the V Berth IF I fail to close the thru hull before a port tack sail with healing involved. The water simply comes up the drain tubing, into, and then out of the sink. Hope that's all it is for you !! Jeff
