i am helping a friend rig a minifish we just got and both of us are pretty new to sailing. where along the upper boom do we tie the halyard? we see guidelines for the sunfish (between 9th and 10th sail rings) but we wonder if the minifish is smaller (meaning the location would be lower?) thanks! polirunner

Pollirunner, I have not sailed my AMF "Flight 12" (Montgomery Wards version of AMF 'Mini-fish') for quite some time. I have had some wonderful times, and done some spirited sailing though. I have even sailed it from Richmond to Angel Island and back.Twice:):) Trial and error are going to be your best weapons. My halyard ties on the upper boom just before the upper color change. You want the lower boom to be high enough that it is easy to dodge, but no higher. I used to have a book called "Sail it Flat" that I recall as being some help, unfortunately I can't seem to find it right now. Happy Sailing:) Mark Wieber
