For those of you who spent the last few days glued to your computer screen to fund out how my battle with mildew went, I am happy to say I won.
I picked up some Tile-X on the weekend and let it sit on the cockpit floor for at least 10 minutes, and it totally cleaned up my problem.

I would like to thank everyone on this site for sharing their knowledge, it is very much appreciated.

...great to hear, I will now proceed to the store myself to purchase Tile-X to do some clean up on our poor neglected C27 and see how that works! We're part of a family ownership so almost anything I would like to do gets scrutinized and dissected, but I think I am safe to brighten and clean the cockpit. Gosh, can't wait to get started! Thanks!:)

Luz:

Go to your local dollar store and look for LA Totally Awesome. $1/bottle (spray bottle). Bird & spider crap are disolved before your eyes. If you have teak decks, seats etc. they will clean up with one application without scrubbing (not a good idea anyway).

This stuff is really sort of amazing for the price.

PS: The Tile-x or bleach water is a good idea to kill the mold/mildew spores but it is not the best cleaner.

I think Steve's Totally Awesome is Awsome Orange around here. The orange bottle is easy to spot on the shelf. Tilex/Clorox, I use on my balcony and at the slip. Sprayed on at the bottom of the door and around the dock cleats, I think bugs don't like the smell and go elsewhere (over to the power boats, I hope).
