I need some help as to how to wash clothes that have that mildew/musty smell. My wife has washed them in the washing machine (Cheer detergent)and added the fabric softener sheets, but that didn't seem to help. These are thin jackets (polyester/nylon) shells and cotten tee shirts and towels. Is there a suggested additive or detergent or special process to eliminate the odor? Thanks for any help Rich

Febreze (not the spray)

Febreze makes an additive for the wash in addition to the spray stuff. You should be able to find it on the laundry aisle. Add it to the Tide when you do the wash. It works for sweaty stinky school basketball/football uniforms so I bet it would work for the boat odors. Also, baking soda added to the wash works well.
