Do to the mistake of assuming that the person that replaced the centerboard pendent on my ODAY 25 had tied a knot at the end of it, I now have a problem. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to feed a line down through the 45 deg. tube and attach it to the pendent to pull it back up into the cockpit? If so is there any special type of line that I should use. And yes I do plane on tying a knot at the bitter end of the pendent. Mike

Here's what you want. Some people install them in the water- I did mine on the hard. It's not real difficult to fish something through the tube.
The shackle is narrower than a standard one and Rudy's splices are nice.

The centerboard pendant lines are usually made up of low stretch halyard type braid line like Sta-Set x. Snaking a line down the pendant line pipe on your O'Day 25 should be fairly easy because the line runs right down to the centerboard with no sheave to run through at the top of inside keel slot.
My 1986 O'Day 222 has this sheave as does the O'Day 26.
Actually, $31.00 for a centerboard pendant line isn't a bad price considering that the shackles go about $15 or $18 and you're getting the braid line with the eye splice.
I often make typos on these forums myself so take heart because they can be corrected at any time you wish. All you have to do is click on to "Edit Post" and correct it. Where it reads, "Reason for Edit" you can put in "Typo" or "Add more info" if you have more information that you want to add to the post.
On numerous times I've developed a severe case of "Brain Gas" which quickly prompted me to delete the post altogether.

I just happened to find a typo in my reply to you. I misspelled the word "prompt" and I just now corrected it. It always irks me when I find typos in my own text after I've checked it out and submitted a reply to a thread.
There's still a lot of things on this site that I haven't learned to do, like organizing my photos in my photo album. I guess I'll have to do some experimenting so I can learn how to do it.
