Might just be the funniest question of all but I doubt it

How would get the 20" seams to seal together?
Oh, don't let Jackdaw talk you out of a crazy great idea! ;) Go ahead an wrap it up this winter, but make sure you get a GoPro camera and record a time-lapse video of the process.
I think you are being baited ;)

Good question. It looks like it might be resting on plywood, supported by the cradle cross members. We just bought this, our first, last fall and I never thought to look that closely. Here's a closer shot of the keel, with the lighting adjusted quite a bit so you can see it better.

The boat's weight should be loaded onto the keel where the structure is designed to take the load, not the struts pressing the hull. And those few struts further concentrate the load to a limited portion of the hull. Like the boat in the middle here, not it's neighbors.

Most of the sailboats here, South of Boston are shrink-wrapped for the winter. Our marina charges about $800 to wrap our 33'. Watch out for awl grip paint if you have it. Shrink wrap will bond to it over the winter if it is in contact. Also, never try to install shrink wrap yourself in 15 knots of wind in the dark and cold when you are in a hurry. ...Don't ask.

Wow - back to the economic side of things. I spent $2200 for a custom canvas cover for my 38 Hunter. Goes on mast up and goes over the stainless arch. It's now 6 years old and is expected to last at least 4 more years. So that works out to $220 per year compared to that $800.
It was made in three pieces so it's very easy to install however the guy who makes them also provides a service where he installs it in the fall, takes it off in the spring, stores it and inspects it for chafe and wear for which he charges a very modest annual fee.

Swore I'd never use the stuff again. Had a custom canvas cover made. Big difference was that shrink wrap costs about $600 and lasts one year. Canvas cover cost $1200 and lasted 11 years.
While our economics are a bit different, the result is the same. As I mentioned above, we paid $450 for a winter shrink wrap (actually $470 I found out). I just got a quote from Ship Shape Canvas in Duluth for their deluxe canvas cover for just $2400 ($2000 for the basic). That's easy math, even for me.

If you have to pay $470 every year to shrink wrap, you will have bought that deluxe cover in 5 years. If it lasts even 10 years, you will have saved $2400.
