might have damaged the mast

I lowered the mast a few minutes ago to put the flag on the pully on the spreaders. When raising the mast, I think I might have put too much forward pressure on it. I heard a popping sound and then the sound of metal falling down inside the mast. anyone have an idea what it could be? Nothing looks broken and it feels solid but I'm worried if I go sailing something might be very wrong and I will damage the rig. Any ideas????ThanksBrad

Hard To Tell

I'd lean to believing one of the sheaves came apart. I would check the tangs and sheaves and be sure the steaming and anchor lights work. If it's all OK, go sailing (with a back up hand-held!) Rick D.
