Mid ship hatch lens replacement

Good day all,
So this happened... Good natured dock mate helping me pin the boom on slipped and dropped my boom on the midship hatch (just aft of the mast, ~12 x 12). The lens survived but is cracked and needs replacing. No apparent frame damage. Any experience out there on doing this? The parts are available at Catalina direct (lens and seal) but I am unsure if this is a DIY job and if so how hard. Comments welcome! thanks again.

You can get a replacement lens cut and replace yourself without to much trouble. I forget where I had it cut, but can look it up in a few days. Leaving Newport in a few hours for return delivery from A2N race, can look upon return.
