Microwave on Catalina

My Catalina has a Samsung 650Watt Microwave that displays 7777 and beeps.
This code doesn't appear in the troubleshooting section of the manual.
Was wondering if anyone has experienced this and what the solution might be.
Called Samsung and didn't get any help. The one thing is this happened last year and I removed the microwave while searching for a replacement. Kept it in my garage for at least 9 months. When I couldn't find anything with only a
9 7/8" height, I brought in the house and plugged it in and it came on without the 7777, so I took to the boat. It was fine for about 2 weeks and this past weekend the 7777 and beeping was going on when I arrived.
Any ideas??

Bust out the meter. Check your voltage and ground on the boat. It could be the outlet, your shore power or a partially bad gfi. Have you tried other outlets on the boat? If you are using a DC to AC converter that could be bad also.

Or the microwave could have a loose connection or bad power supply. If so it is junk as there are some serious high voltages in that thing and I would suggest against opening it up.

Perhaps your microwave was designed for Hunter Sailboats... I would call the manufacturer and order a Catalina micro wave adapter

Throw it away. DO NOT try to repair a microwave, ever. The transformer inside the microwave which powers up the magnetron holds power for a long time. You can & will be electrocuted by it, as several home repair men have unfortunately found out the hard way. Incidentally, what makes a sailor's forum more qualified to give advice on a microwave repair? I know some crazy sailors who live on Catalinas, but that doesn't make me more qualified to give out psychological advice. LOL.

ps. Check out places that sell microwaves for dorm rooms & R.V.'s as they are a lot smaller. Mallwort sells many different sizes of microwaves & R.V. & camping stores sell lots of 12 volt power mini sized appliances.

Thanks for all the suggestions. This microwave came with the 2004 Catalina and was actually used on all Catalina's for years. I have looked for 2 years
for one that would fit in the opening Catalina designed for this unit and all current micro's are around 10.2" in height. Not any of the above suggestions, and was just checking to see if any other Catalina owner had every had that
7777 come up on the display.

I would check the Catalina 310 forum- there have been discussions about replacement Microwave Ovens that fit in our cupboard space designed for Microwave ovens.
And the advice of throwing it out is VERY SAGE, for less than $100. it is not worth the damage that can be done to your boat!

I had the exact same problem with the exact same microwave. It beeped non-stop and I took it home and it did it again. We left it sit for the winter and tried it again this Spring. It worked for most of the season and then started doing it again. We took it off and it did it at home again.

I previously checked with Catalina about small microwaves and the Parts Department told me that they had the same problem getting small microwaves so they made the enclosures larger on the newer boats. Logical but not helpful.

I just found a Danby .7 cu/foot microwave that snugly fits into the enclosure. The front of the microwave is less than 10 inches high but the back is slightly more. We solved that by slightly flattening the "feet" that are molded into the aluminum base. We did not have to do anything to the front feet so there still is enough room for venting from below. Works great and it looks better as well - stainless steel instead of the white Samsung.
