This was my first summer sailing my C22 and thought trimming the sail was pulling in the sheets. That is until I made this forum a nightly visit. I have improved Quite a bit already (long way to go). I have Don's guide & chart on the way in the mail. So I thought I would say thanks to all for your good advice on many topics from trailer tire pressure to sail trim. Merry Chirstmas Don and all! Phil: Thank you for your order. Your book and chart was mailed early on 12/20. Should take about 8 days with the Xmas rush. After you digest the material contained in the book a few times you'll be amazed at how easy sail trim actually is. Once you get on the water and apply the principles you'll also be amazed that you'll know more about sail trim than 75% of the sailors world wide. To prove my point - next time your talking to one of your sailing buddies, in a casual and inquisitive manner ask them to explain the difference between draft depth and twist. Additionally, ask them which sail trim controls for the main and jib control those elements plus which way do you push or pull them to get the desired result. You'll be able to answer that question when you finish the first chapter in my book!! If they are able to answer the first set of questions, ask them what setting would you use for the main and jib sailing to windward in 10 knots of wind? You could answer that question within 2 seconds by merely refering to my chart.

On the hard?
Down here it refers to the couple of times in winter that for a few hours the tide is so low that the keel may hit bottom. Today it was 38 degrees in the morning but by noon we were up to a high of 62 degrees. Hate these unseasonably cold temperatures.
