Merriman Yacht Specialities Wheel Pedestals?

Would anybody have any info on replacement steering cables for used Merriman Yacht Specialities Pedestals or any experience on them? Doc Freemans in Seattle closed several years and allegedly they were the final depot for surplus parts. Found a used MYS pedestal (can't afford an Edson) but would want spare cables for the future. It's standard 7 X 19 stainless wire

Do you mean just the wires? It's standard 7 X 19 stainless wire with nico press fittings and thimbles on one end. Any good rigging shop can make them. I don’t even have a shop anymore and I can make them. Or are you looking for the chain and ends? Depending on the pitch it’s available from Edson. All the best, Robert Gainer

Single Push Pull Cable

Not wire but this one operates with a single push-pull teleflex cable. It is connected to the chain which push the rod in or out and is connected to an arm on the rudder post. The cable's broken and not sure if other standard cables can be made to fit. Wondering if others have Merriman Yacht Specialities Pedestal and ever had to replace their single cable?

Sorry, I have no experience with them. When you said cables I thought wire. Anything I say about push-pull systems would just be guessing. Good luck, Robert Gainer

Kevin, this type of steering is used on some power

boats. If the cable is Edson, then Edson can help. Check the Edson website for a dealer, or check with a big runabout dealer.

Sorry. I meant teleflex, not Edson

if it's a teleflex cable, they should be able to help
