I bought my 1987 28.5 two years ago and have grumbled at the lack of a brake on the wheel. Since Merriman no longer exists, I assumed I was out of luck. But I learned in another forum about one available from the Hunter Owners Store at this site. Installed mine last week and I am delighted. It is expensive (beautifully hand made) but it solves a problem for those of us who thought it would not be available. Look at the picture in the Chandlery.
